Puppetry. Scenography.
Theatre. Community.

I am a scenographer, a theatre maker and a puppeteer whose work expands on the disciplines of material performance, ecoscenography and sensory ethnography. Creating for the theatre, community advocacy and interdisciplinary collaboartion, my practice is a fusion of landscape poetics, regenerative invention and performative alchemy.

Currently I serve as Director of Production for the River Clyde Pageant in New Glasgow, PEI, as well as Resident Designer for the Drama and Screen Studies program at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB.

Puppetry

Specializing in large scale, processional, pageant, and experimental object theatre, I am fascinated by how material performance can both grip our imaginations and stimulate critical discussion.

Scenography

With over a decade of professional experience, my scenographic practice encompasses set, lighting, carpentry, sculpture and costuming. I am driven to pursue sustainable practices and believe that the potential of materials and the act of performance extends beyond the run of a show.

Theatre

I am a director, a dramaturge, a performer, a devisor and above all, a collaborator. I believe that theatre is an act of emplacement and an act of humility. I strive to find ways to collaborate across disciplines, cultures and with the non-human world.

Community

I make work collectively, whether it is collaborating with professional artists, working with young adults, leading public workshops or teaching post-secondary students. To quote Bread and Puppet's Cheap Art Manifesto, "Art is food. You can't eat it but it feeds you. Art has to be cheap and available to everybody. It needs to be everywhere because it is the inside of the world."
